Facebook Watch video service rolled out worldwide
Facebook Watch video service launches worldwide today. Many users will now be able to make their choice from a variety of shows. The Facebook watch video service plans to allow all content creators to feature advertising breaks, so long as they hit certain metrics.
Before now, it was only select publishers had been given the opportunity.
Although it’s launched worldwide, only videos shown to audiences in the UK, US, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand will have this facility for now.
The revenue split will be 55% for the creators and 45% to Facebook.
Facebook Watch video service, which is often seen as a rival to Google’s YouTube, also competes for attention against traditional TV channels and even Netflix, Amazon Video, BBC iPlayer and Facebook’s own Instagram TV.
